Design Consultation

Applied Product Design would like to offer you a FREE Product Design or Industrial Design consultation for your product. This may include metalwork, an enclosure, moulding, and / or a product, which may involve an Electronic Design, Industrial PC or Computer Solution. We can also assist with IPR’s such as Patent, Trademark, Design Registration & Copyright. We don’t breath fire like those in the Dragons’ Den! – We are here to help!

During an initial meeting a confidentiality agreement can be set up if needed, to give you confidence when discussing your Product Design or Industrial Design with us, either using documentation supplied by you, or we can assist in this area if required.

Once the formalities are out of the way we can discuss the Product Design or Industrial Design in question. This can be anything from an idea that you may have, which may have no formal documentation or you may be uncertain on how to go about it, through to a fully developed product that you may require advice, and / or facilities to manufacture. Alternatively you may only require some Product Development.

Product Design

Our Staff at Applied Product Design have a great deal of experience in design, this covers anything from idea generation, concept development, through to testing and implementation, especially with a view to manufacturing. A design must not only be capable of being manufactured, but should be able to be manufactured cost effectively. To complete a design, we use the latest techniques, including Computer Aided Design (CAD) to generate 3D images, which can then be turned into models / prototypes as required.

Industrial Design

The Industrial Design that we do covers the aesthetics and usability of a product, which may be improved for marketability and production. As such the Industrial Design looks at the form and function of the product, and the connection between product and user.

Product Development

Product Development may assist you if your idea or product is not yet in a state where it can be brought to market. You may only have an idea, maybe some sketches, or a basic prototype, in which case our Product Development program can help turn the product into something ready for production. This can include testing and writing the required technical files that would be needed to obtain the required standards to achieve certification and approvals for the markets that the product is intended for. If required we can then produce the product for you, either in the UK, or if in higher volumes Off Shore for cost reduction.

Our core business originated in the design and manufacture of electronic control equipment to meet our customer’s specific requirements. This then lead many years ago into single chip microprocessor controlled products, which are used in many of our designs today. In more recent years Product Development has turned more recent ideas into a Computer Appliance, Industrial PC or other Computer Solution to meet our customer’s needs.

Summary

Applied Product Design can design, develop and manufacture all your product requirements, from enclosures, mouldings and metalwork, through to products involving electronics and computers, from simple circuits that may involve single chip microprocessors through to a full Computer Solution.
